The Learning Tree Website, Design, and Strategy

A while back I had the chance to create a complete website for a licensed home daycare using Joomla as the backbone. Although I only have the original proposal on hand, the final site came together with the following core pages and features:

  • Home Page
We designed a prominent header area that showcased a warm, family-friendly image and tagline, immediately conveying the daycare’s focus on nurturing early childhood development. A simple yet effective navigation bar guided visitors to key information about the program.
  • About Us
This section expanded on the daycare’s unique qualifications, staff experience, and daily structure. It gave parents a clear picture of what a typical day looked like, including snacks, lunch, activities, and more.
  • Enroll
To streamline the enrollment process, we created a simple inquiry form for parents to fill out. The page also included basic cost information and a call-to-action encouraging interested families to get in touch.
  • Specials
We added a dedicated area for any introductory offers or coupon codes, making it easy for new families to find and take advantage of discounts.
  • Testimonials
Nothing builds trust better than parent feedback. We integrated a testimonials section featuring quotes from current and past clients, which helped demonstrate the daycare’s success and credibility.
  • Contact
Here, we listed essential contact details—phone, email, and a general location (omitting the exact address for security reasons). A link back to the enrollment page ensured parents were never more than a click away from taking the next step.

By using Joomla, I ensured the site owner could update text, images, and other content independently, without needing extensive technical know-how. The final product was a bright, approachable website that families could navigate with ease, helping them quickly learn about the daycare’s values and offerings.
